Robert Capa, War Photographer / UNTIL DECEMBER 20th 2026

Musée de la Libération - Exhibition ROBERT CAPA

About This Experience

‘A great picture’, said Robert Capa, ‘is the whole event condensed into a single image’. On all fronts – among Republican soldiers in Spain in 1937-1938, among American troops landing in Normandy on 6 June 1944, in the shootings during the Liberation of Paris, and even in Indochina where he died, camera in hand, in a mine explosion in 1954 – Capa forged the legend of the war photographer. The exhibition recounts the journey of this Hungarian Jewish immigrant. It focuses on the making of his legend and his images, from the moment they were taken to their publication in the press

With the  collaboration of Magnum Photos.
