Tickets: Book your tickets online to avoid queues, especially during peak periods. Access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions is via Gate C.


Opening hours : The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday. Consult the official website for detailed schedules and any exceptional closures.


Access : The Musée d'Orsay is easily accessible by public transport (metro, RER, bus).


Visiting tips: Allow at least 3 to 4 hours to explore the collections. Wear comfortable shoes and use the audioguide to enhance your visit.

Please note that access to temporary exhibitions is regulated according to the number of visitors. Please expect to wait at the Vigipirate checkpoint and in front of the exhibition.

Good to know for your visit

Admission to the Musée d'Orsay is free, on presentation of proof, for:

  • All children under 18,

  • Youths under-26s who are nationals of the European Union,

  • Disabled people and their companions,

  • The museum is free of charge on the first Sunday of each month, upon reservation of a time slot (no need for an access ticket or proof of identity).

The museum proposes audioguides (€5) at the entrance.

Open every day except Monday from 9:30am to 6pm (last entry at 5pm) and until 9:45pm on Thursday (last entry at 9pm).
Exceptionally closed on May 1st and December 25th.
