Your experience

Nicknamed the Cité des Sacres because of the numerous coronations that took place there, Reims is the capital of Champagne. Upon arrival you will see the cathedral, Notre-Dame de Reims, a true masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Your guide will accompany you for your entire visit, to tell you dozens of stories about the history of this 13th-century building.

Continue your trip at the famous Martel wine cellars for a commentated visit. You will be introduced to the methods of champagne-making and the history of the brand with, most importantly, a tasting of three champagnes with well-deserved recognition.

Take advantage of your free time to explore the city at your own pace, and enjoy a leisurely lunch. After lunch, you will be taken to the Lighthouse of Verzenay, a 25m-high tower with exceptional 360° views over the vineyards. It will then be time to return to Paris, but your journey doesn’t end there. On the way back, you will stop in the charming village of Hautvillers, where the Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon perfected the process of creating what we now know as champagne.

Departure from France Tourisme agency at 8am
Visit to the city of Reims and the cathedral
Visit in English only of the Martel, Mumm or Pommery cellars (according to openings or availability) and champagne tasting
Lunch break in Reims (lunch not included)
Visit to the Phare de Verzenay (vineyard museum) and champagne tasting
Break in the village of Hautvillers
End of the excursion and return in Paris at 7pm
