If Normandy was full of holiday resorts, there would be less left over from the Second World War. Cemeteries, bunkers, and even artillery batteries are still scattered around the Norman countryside!

After leaving Paris, you will start your visit at the Pointe du Hoc, a strategic point along the Atlantic Wall Fortifications. Located at Cricqueville-en-Bessin between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, it was the setting for a major battle on the morning of 6 June 1944. Here you will learn about what makes up an artillery battery: bunkers, firing post, etc.

Continue your visit on the edge of Omaha Beach, a major historical site known for the great loss of life during the landings. From here, you will go to the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville, which is the final resting place for over 9,000 soldiers killed in combat. To conclude your morning, you will head to Arromanches and its artificial port, where you will have free time for lunch.
