How to use your Navigo Easy Pass?

The Navigo Easy pass allows you to make a trip on:

the metro lines (excluding Orly airport)

the RER lines (RATP and SNCF) in Paris (zone 1/2)

the Île-de-France bus lines (RATP and OPTILE), except Orlybus and Roissybus

the tramway lines (RATP and SNCF)

Montmartre funicular

Each traveler must validate their own pass for each trip.

bus/bus (including between the RATP and OPTILE networks), bus/tram and tram/tram for 1.5 hours between the first and last validation

You can recharge your Navigo Easy Pass directly at the metro and train stations. Simply go to a vending machine, select the top-up option, place your pass on the designated holder and choose the desired number of tickets. Payment is made by credit card or in cash depending on the device. This practical solution allows you to recharge several passes for several people in a few minutes.

The Île-de-France Mobilités app allows you to recharge your pass from your smartphone. In the Purchase menu, choose "On my Navigo pass", then place your pass against the back of the phone. Select your tickets, validate the payment and present the pass again on the back of the phone to load the purchased tickets. You will thus avoid queues at the ATMs.

To check the balance of your Navigo Easy Pass, use the app or present your pass at a vending machine in the station. The screen will immediately display the number of tickets available on your support. This quick check will allow you to recharge at the right time and travel with peace of mind.

Your pass can contain up to 4 different types of titles simultaneously.

 

Limits: RER suburb and CDG airport

The Navigo Easy Pass has some restrictions that are important to know. Suburban RER lines beyond zone 1-2 are not accessible with single tickets loaded onto your pass. To reach CDG airport, you will need to use a specific ticket like the RoissyBus rather than just a metro-train-RER ticket.

 

Good to know: validity of the Navigo Easy Pass

The Navigo Easy Pass is an anonymous card: you can lend it or give it to another person

Validity date: the pass has a lifespan of 10 years, the securities loaded remain valid during this period

It is not valid for connecting to CDG and Orly airports (a specific ticket for the Paris region <> Aéroports is required)
