Four years ago now, La Caverne, the largest organic farm in the centre of Paris, opened its doors in a former underground car park in the 18th arrondissement, in the La Chapelle neighbourhood.

Local residents and high-end restaurants alike flock to this spectacular market to buy top-quality shiitake mushrooms, button mushrooms and fresh endives, all grown underground in this vast and somewhat surreal space.

Entirely eco-friendly, the farm now employs 20 full-time staff, utilising an assembly line and its own recycling systems. Many other short-supply-chain food start-ups have set up shop in this former car park, including edible flowers, lettuces, aquaponics equipment, microgreens, and much more!

At the end of your visit, you’ll be able to buy vegetables grown on site using the TOO GOOD TO GO app.
