Guided tour exploring Notre-Dame de Paris and the Île de la Cité

About This Experience

In the silence steeped in history of the Île de la Cité, where Paris took its first steps, time seems to slow down. This guided tour takes you to the very heart of the city, amongst Roman ruins, medieval power and revolutionary dramas, in a narrative that blends history and emotion.

As you stroll along the Seine and through the island’s ancient streets, you will relive the centuries during which Paris was built stone by stone: from the first Gallo-Roman settlements through the Middle Ages of kings and bishops, right up to the darkest and most solemn moments in its history.

The external tour of Notre-Dame Cathedral forms the centrepiece of the itinerary. The west façade becomes a veritable book carved in stone: statues, portals and rose windows recount the medieval world, its fears, its faith and its vision of humanity. Through a careful and engaging guided tour, you will discover symbols, hidden details and the deep connection between the cathedral and the lives of Parisians, from the Middle Ages to the present day.

An intense and contemplative experience, designed for those who wish to understand Paris not only with their eyes, but also through memory and emotion.

A journey through time, to the place where it all began.
