Commercial Court 1865 / Consular Economic Court

About This Experience

Your experience

Inaugurated on 26 December 1865 in the presence of Napoleon III and the Empress, it boasts 150 years of history!

The tour will allow you to appreciate the beauty of this ‘monumental island’ built by Nicolas BAILLY, and to learn about the workings of economic justice within this court of first instance, comprising 172 elected judges who handle over 71,000 cases a year (collective proceedings, liquidations, litigation, the commercial and companies register, etc.).

You will be amazed by the building’s magnificent décor, with its grand staircase and rooms filled with paintings, sculptures and tapestries created by our most illustrious artists, where public hearings are held during the day.

An unusual, civic-minded and surprising guided tour not to be missed!

Security guidelines: no sharp metal objects (scissors, nail files, knives, etc.), no containers (water bottles, glass bottles, etc.).

Please bring your ID with you; you will be asked to show it at the entrance.
