Immerse yourself in the mythical world of Wagner’s Ring and discover the secrets of a work that has continued to fascinate artists and audiences alike for 150 years
As part of the new production of the Ring cycle at the Opéra Bastille and the RING Festival in November 2026, the Opéra national de Paris, in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, presents the exhibition ‘Richard Wagner: The Revolutions of the Ring’.
Through more than a hundred items drawn from the collections of the BnF, museums and private collections, the exhibition explores the genesis of the tetralogy, Wagner’s musical revolution, the challenges of staging the work and its influence on the contemporary arts.
First performed 150 years ago in Bayreuth, the Ring remains a unique work, deeply rooted in the collective imagination. From its origins to its legacy, the exhibition traces the destiny of this epic work and bears witness to the fascination it continues to exert on artists, musicians, choreographers and theatre practitioners.

Rehearsals result in frequent and unpredictable closures of the performance venue. No ticket guarantees entry.

Cloakrooms are closed. It is not allowed to enter with a scooter or any kind of voluminous luggage.

The Palais Garnier is open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from mid-July to the end of August), except for exceptional closures. The monument closes one hour later.
