Rigoletto – An immersive opera at the Jacquemart-André Museum

About This Experience

Your experience

Discover Verdi’s *Rigoletto* in a completely new way at the Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris.

With *Opera a Palazzo*, there is no traditional stage separating the audience from the performers.

When the museum closes, Verdi’s masterpiece unfolds in an immersive adaptation, without a stage or orchestra pit. In the intimate atmosphere of the magnificent salons of this 19th-century townhouse, you’ll follow the singers from room to room, getting up close to the characters and their emotions.

Rigoletto, Gilda, the Duke of Mantua, Sparafucile and Maddalena thus come to life just a few steps away from the audience, accompanied by an instrumental trio comprising a piano, a violin and a cello, allowing spectators to experience the drama and music of this work with exceptional intimacy.

Performed in Italian, the opera is accessible to an international audience thanks to librettos provided in French and English.

During the evening, you are free to explore the private apartments on the ground floor of the museum, with their period furniture and master paintings.

A glass of Champagne will be served on arrival, and again during the interval, to punctuate the evening with moments of conviviality in an elegant atmosphere.

The performance lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, excluding the interval.

Capacity is limited to 80 audience members per performance.

Opera Evening + ‘Eternal Tintoretto’ Temporary Exhibition

Extend your evening at the Musée Jacquemart-André with a visit to the ‘Eternal Tintoretto’ temporary exhibition before the performance.

The first major French retrospective dedicated to Tintoretto, the exhibition brings together some forty major works tracing the artist’s career and his influence on the history of European art.

Visitors who have chosen the ‘Opera Evening & Exhibition’ ticket enjoy priority access to the museum from 7.30 pm, before the doors open to other visitors.

The official audio guide for the exhibition is available free of charge via the Musée Jacquemart-André app, on iOS and Android.
