La Traviata – An immersive opera at the Jacquemart-André Museum

About This Experience

Your experience

Discover Verdi’s *La Traviata* in the exceptional setting of the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris.

Opera a Palazzo offers a unique and immersive way to experience opera.

After the museum closes, in the intimate atmosphere of the drawing rooms of this 19th-century townhouse, *La Traviata* comes to life in an immersive adaptation where the performers move just a few metres away from the audience, offering a rare sense of closeness and an experience of unrivalled intensity.

Here, there is no stage or curtain: you follow the characters from room to room and find yourself at the heart of the moving story of the three main characters – Violetta, Alfredo and Giorgio Germont – accompanied by piano, violin and cello.

Performed in Italian, the opera is accessible to an international audience thanks to librettos provided in French and English.

During the interval, you can enjoy a glass of Champagne and a guided tour of the private apartments on the ground floor of the museum, before rejoining the performers for the rest of the performance.

The performance lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, excluding the interval.

Capacity limited to 80 audience members per performance.

Opera Evening + ‘Eternal Tintoretto’ Temporary Exhibition

Extend your evening at the Musée Jacquemart-André with a visit to the ‘Eternal Tintoretto’ temporary exhibition before the performance.

The first major French retrospective dedicated to Tintoretto, the exhibition brings together some forty major works tracing the artist’s career and his influence on the history of European art.

Visitors who have chosen the ‘Opera Evening & Exhibition’ ticket enjoy priority access to the museum from 7.30 pm, before the doors open to other visitors.

The official audio guide for the exhibition is available free of charge via the Musée Jacquemart-André app, on iOS and Android.
